NEMO science museum

NEMO Science Museum approached me with a challenge: their newly acquired Leica microscopes, intended for children to explore in their laboratory, were being damaged due to accidental misuse. The task was to design a solution that would protect these sophisticated instruments while maintaining their functionality To achieve this, I utilized 3D scanning technology to create a precise digital model of the microscope. Using this model in SolidWorks (CAD), I designed a custom 3D printed shell that covers sensitive buttons and reinforces others, making the microscopes more robust and child-friendly. The design was carefully crafted to integrate seamlessly with the original Leica microscope aesthetic, ensuring a cohesive look.
